A brand new podcast, Altadena: After The Fireplace, will chronicle the street to restoration in Altadena, California as this neighborhood navigates the aftermath of the Eaton Fireplace. The lethal January wildfire claimed 17 lives and greater than 9,000 constructions—together with 1000’s of properties—throughout Altadena and surrounding areas together with Pasadena.
With new episodes airing every month by October, be part of host and govt producer, Colby “Colb” Tyner, for in-depth reporting on restoration efforts in Altadena and firsthand tales of loss and survival from this historic heart of Black prosperity and tradition.
“It is vitally necessary that we don’t neglect this tragedy,” stated Tyner. “As nationwide information protection has slowly dwindled as soon as the fires have been extinguished, we needed to be a voice for the residents of Altadena and maintain the remainder of the world knowledgeable of what’s occurring.”
Altadena: After The Fireplace will study the environmental and political components at play as residents navigate rebuilding efforts—that includes insights from elected officers, neighborhood leaders, enterprise house owners, and survivors.
