The unique dancer who as soon as accused three Duke College lacrosse gamers of raping her admitted this week that she invented the 2006 allegations that set off a flamable nationwide dialog about gender, race and sophistication.
Crystal Mangum, who’s now in jail serving time for second-degree homicide, mentioned she “made up a narrative that wasn’t true” towards one-time defendants David Evans, Collin Finnerty and Reade Seligmann who “did not deserve that.”
“I testified falsely towards them by saying that they raped me once they did not and that was mistaken,” she instructed podcaster Kate Katerena’s “Let’s Discuss with Kat” in an interview that dropped this week.
“I betrayed the belief of lots of different individuals who believed in me and made up a narrative that wasn’t true as a result of I wished validation from individuals and never from God and that was mistaken when God already beloved me for who I used to be.”
Mangum and one other dancer had been employed to carry out at celebration, thrown by Duke lacrosse gamers, on March 13, 2006.

Mangum was convicted in 2013 for second-degree homicide for the deadly stabbing of boyfriend Reginald Daye on April 3, 2011. She was sentenced to greater than 14 years in jail.
