As literacy charges in Black youngsters are declining Library Dads are stepping as much as construct bonds via books.
Georgia resident Khari Arnold is on a mission to unite fathers and kids via a shared love of studying.
Arnold, a lifelong e-book lover, based Library Dads, a community-based program designed to foster literacy and connection amongst fathers and their youngsters. His inspiration got here from childhood journeys to the library together with his mom, a librarian, and later from his personal journey into fatherhood.
Now, as a dad to a 2-year-old daughter, Arnold needed to create an area the place males might interact with their youngsters and each other — constructing bonds via books and brotherhood.
“You may’t undergo this journey alone,” Arnold mentioned. “One among our favourite sayings is, ‘It’s one factor to have males in your circle.
