On November 23, Chad Duell — who has portrayed Michael Corinthos on Basic Hospital for 14 years — confirmed is strolling away from the ABC cleaning soap opera.
The actor Duell took followers and followers by excessive shock when he introduced this information in an Instagram publish on Saturday, writing:
“After many unbelievable years with Basic Hospital, I’ve determined to step away from the present.
“This wasn’t a straightforward determination for me, but it surely seems like the suitable time in my life.
“I’m past grateful to Frank Valentini, the solid, crew, and everybody behind the scenes who’ve been like household to me all through this superb journey.”
It seems that the cut up is amicable, though Duell didn’t present any additional particulars behind his determination.

Duell appeared on an episode of The CW’s Arrow in 2020 and installments of The Suite Life on Deck and Wizards of Waverly Place again in 2008.
He’s a seven-time Daytime Emmy nominee, most lately having earned a nomination in 2023 for Excellent Efficiency by a Supporting Actor in a Daytime Drama Sequence.
He gained a Daytime Emmy in 2015 for Excellent Supporting Actor in a Drama Sequence.
Basic Hospital producer Frank Valentini, in the meantime, revealed on Twitter over the weekend “there are not any plans to recast [Duell’s] function right now.”
“I’ve cherished working with Chad through the years and need him nothing however the perfect. He’s a terrific actor and might be missed by everybody at #GH,” Valentini wrote on social media.
“There are not any plans to recast his function right now, however you by no means know in daytime. I can promise an excellent story for Michael and his household when Chad exits within the new 12 months.”
