Chopper 9 was over a serious scrapyard hearth Monday afternoon in Gaston County, south of Crowders.
The hearth at Steel Recycling Providers started burning round 3:30 p.m. Monday and was cleared round 8:30 p.m. the identical day, Gaston County officers stated.
Smoke from the hearth within the 5400 block of Freeway 321 might be seen for miles. Robinson Street was closed between U.S. 321 and Sparrow Dairy Street. The highway has since reopened.
