Janice Smalls, the mom of Sean “Diddy” Combs, is going through authorized motion over her majority stake in Dangerous Boy Leisure. The lawsuit was filed by Kirk Burrowes, co-founder and former president of the label, and he accuses Smalls of collaborating in a scheme to defraud him of his rightful possession within the firm.

In accordance with courtroom paperwork obtained by the Every day Mail, Burrowes alleges that in 1996 Diddy violently coerced him into signing away his 25 % stake in Dangerous Boy Leisure. He claims that Diddy, accompanied by the label’s lawyer Kenneth Meiselas, ambushed him in his New York Metropolis workplace and used a baseball bat to intimidate him. Burrowes finally signed the settlement because of worry. The lawsuit states that Diddy later transferred the stake to his mom.
Though Smalls was not current throughout the alleged incident, Burrowes asserts that she directed the act and later pretended to be unaware when he reached out to her for recommendation. Now homeless, Burrowes claims he was blacklisted from the music business, financially sabotaged, and disadvantaged of the wealth he helped create for the label. He’s looking for $100,000 in damages, reinstatement of his 25 % possession stake, his share of annual earnings, and a full forensic audit of Dangerous Boy Leisure’s monetary information.

This lawsuit comes after elevated scrutiny over Diddy’s previous enterprise dealings with different Dangerous Boy members. Diddy made headlines in 2023 for returning publishing rights to a number of ex-label signees, together with Ma$e, The LOX, and 112.
Smalls has not but publicly responded to the lawsuit.
