Based on the campus of Howard College, the traditionally Black sorority boasts a membership that features a who’s who of notable actresses, athletes, politicians and all-around historical past makers.
Delta Sigma Theta is a world group with over 350,000 members and 1,000 (collegiate and alumnae) chapters in the USA, Canada, Japan, Germany, the Caribbean, Africa, the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Korea. The sorority prioritizes the tenets of sisterhood, scholarship and repair (as reported by Ebony.com)

Devoted to public service, DST was based on January 13, 1913. Apparently, the 22 founders have been initially members of the Alpha Kappa Alpha chapter at Howard. Nonetheless, feeling disenchanted with AKA’s course, the members determined to kind a brand new sorority that they felt was extra reflective of their objectives of social activism and different civic-minded duties (Delta means “change”).
