LAPD carried out a citizen’s arrest Thursday afternoon (round 4:30pm), detaining a person with a blowtorch probably linked to beginning the Kenneth Hearth within the Los Angeles neighborhood.
The arson suspect (presumed to be homeless) was allegedly seen using a bicycle across the Woodland Hills neighborhood, carrying a big “propane tank or a flamethrower,” and setting fireplace to a number of outdated Christmas bushes and rubbish cans concurrently the Kenneth Hearth began. Group members tackled and zip-tied the suspect, holding him till officers arrived.
One native stated that the person was “very targeted on shifting ahead with the blow torch,” telling FOX 11 the suspect stated: ‘I can’t cease. I can’t cease. I’m not placing this down. I’m doing this.’

The Kenneth Hearth sparked simply after 2:30 p.m. and has since exploded to 960 acres and continues to tear via Ventura County with 0% containment as of Friday morning, in response to the New York Submit. The person was arrested and brought to the division’s Topanga station.
