To most of the world, Nicholas Tompson is named an editor, an AI fanatic, or one thing of a LinkedIn influencer. However the former WIRED editor in chief, who’s now CEO of The Atlantic, is usually higher recognized to colleagues as the man who runs to the workplace.
On Tuesday, Thompson is releasing The Operating Floor: A Father, a Son, and the Easiest of Sports activities. Because the title suggests, it’s a e book about his dedication to working—Thompson runs a ridiculously quick marathon and holds the American 50K file for the 45-49 age group. Finally, although, the e book examines the sophisticated relationship between the game, Thompson, and his father, who first took him on a run when he was simply 5 years previous. On this week’s episode of The Massive Interview, I talked to Thompson (who was additionally my first boss; he employed me as an intern at WIRED in 2008) about his e book, the interaction between working and dependancy, and what he thinks AI can do for runners and for writers.
