Chicago police challenge group alert after anti-Semitic stickers, graffiti present in Hyde Park


Chicago police issued a group alert Monday after a collection of anti-Semitic phrases have been left on property in Hyde Park final month.

Between June 23 and June 30, stickers or graffiti with anti-Semitic phrases have been left on numerous properties — together with a mailbox, cease signal, lockers and an emergency bell — within the South Facet neighborhood, police stated.

The legal damages to property came about on the 5100 block of South College Avenue, 1200 and 1300 block of East 53rd Road, 1300 block of East 54th Road and 1500 block of east fifty fifth Road, police stated.

The alert comes after swastikas have been painted on a number of buildings and one constructing was tagged a second time with a pro-immigration enforcement assertion in Little Village over the weekend.

In June, a girl defaced a Pilsen mural at sixteenth Road and Ashland Avenue and was accused of attacking one other lady who tried to cease her. That mural depicted solidarity between a Mexican and a Palestinian man.
